This Page  is for those of you who Troll in BIG LAKES and want  to catch more  Salmon, Big Trout and Lake Trout . The following  setups are DEADLY  in just about all lakes that have a good population of 3-30 pound: Salmon, Rainbow, Cutthroat, Brown, Eastern Brook, and Lake Trout. Including : the Great Lakes, Lake Chelan, Lake Fort Peck, Great Bear, and Pend Oreille.

Rigging:  PRINT THIS OUT & TAKE IT FISHING!!

Use a standard salmon mooching leader, ie:15 to 40 lb test, two 1/0 to 3/0 hooks (Mustad 92553s or similar style) tied 1" apart. Thread fly on leader and slide down over hooks. Tie the other end of leader to the tail end of flasher or dodger using specified leader length; Measure from tail end of flasher or dodger to the nose of bucktail.

The following setups come from our Great Lakes and other big lake customers: they should be clipped into downrigger release 10-40 ft behind your ball. If you don't have downriggers use different sized crescent sinkers to take your offering to desired depth.

We also recommend using 6-8 drops of your favorite scent on our bucktails. We like Mike's shrimp or herring oil ,Pro Cure alewife oil, Berkely power bait is also good (use white & form a ball around hook shank). Wash out fly with 3 or 4 drops of liquid dish soap and water, then let dry, so it won't be all gummed up for your next trip.

Lake OntarioW.jpg (85311 bytes)   elliot.jpg (63174 bytes)  2 Photos from Elliot Bernstein of Pulaski, NY. Some of the dozens of Kings and Browns he's taken from Lake Michigan this summer (2003) using our bucktails. Here's his setup: Our 4" Blue/White Herring or 6"Blue/White Magnum, 5 Magnum glow beads, 18" of 40 lb fluorocarbon leader, size 01 or 02 treble hook and a white Flodger w/pearl tape from Wolverine Tackle. The single fish pic was a $1,ooo derby winner (29.75 lb King) and was not taken with his usual flodger but on a challenger flasher. He sometimes ties a spinner(1" blade) on the leader 6" ahead of the bucktail, 12" back from Flodger.

Pete23.jpg (30796 bytes) Pete Clemens with a beautiful 23 lb. Kamloop Rainbow trout from Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho. Pete used our 4" Blue/White-glow Herring bucktail 25-27" of 30# test and an 11" Hotspot flasher. He trolled with a downrigger 40 ft. deep @ 1.8 mph. He told us to go ahead and put the details on our site to help other fishermen. Apparently he's caught quite a few others on our bucktails.

Order some today!   Only $9.00 min order. Why? We know if you try 'em you'll buy again! (Delivered within a week w/ credit card orders)
